Main Functions

The All India Council for Paramedical Professionals has the following key objectives and functions.

  • Registration and MembershipThe All India Council for Paramedical Professionals will provide registration and membership to candidates who have completed certificates, diplomas, degrees, and postgraduate programs in the fields of allied health and paramedical sciences.
    Registration and memberships are offered to eligible Paramedical fields, including, but not limited to, the following streams:

    Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), Radiology and Imaging Technology, Ultrasound Technology, MRI and CT Scan Technology, Pathology Technology, Blood Bank Technology, and ECG and Cardiac Technology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Audiology, Respiratory Therapy, Dialysis Technology, Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, Orthotics and Prosthetics, Palliative Care Technology, Patient rehabilitation and care, Operation Theatre Technology, Surgical Technology, Anesthesia Technology, Critical Care Technology, Dental Hygiene and Dental Mechanic, surgical and emergency care. Health Inspector, Community Health Worker, Public Health and Sanitation Technology, Forensic Science, Perfusion Technology, Neurotechnology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, and Medical Records Technology.

    Registration and memberships are offered to eligible Allied Health fields, including, but not limited to, the following streams:

    Biotechnology, Genetics and Molecular Biology, Veterinary Paramedicine, Histotechnology and Cytotechnology, Dental Hygiene and Dental Mechanic, Ayurveda, Health Informatics, Medical Coding and Billing, Telehealth Coordination, Regenerative Medicine, Advanced Diagnostic Techniques (AI-based systems), Stem Cell Technology.

    Psychology is also a vital component of allied health, addressing mental, emotional, and social well-being. Registration can be obtained in the following fields within psychology:

    Counselling Psychologist, Family Psychologist, Health Psychologist, Child Behavioral Therapist, Educational and Career Psychologist, Social Worker (Bystanders, personal assistants), Yoga Therapist, Life Coach, Fitness Coach, Mental Health Support Worker and Mental Health First Respondent (MHFR).

  • Networking Platform Functioning as an association to build a robust network among professionals in the allied health and paramedical fields.
  • Enrichment and Empowerment Promoting the professional development, enrichment, and empowerment of members through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and skill enhancement initiatives.
  • Regulation and Standards Establishing and maintaining uniform standards for allied health and paramedical professionals across India. Establish and enforce professional standards and codes of conduct. Ensure the ethical practice of members within the field. Maintain and update qualifications and accreditation requirements. Monitor compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Professional Development Offer training programs, workshops, and continuing education opportunities. Facilitate skill development and capacity-building initiatives. Organize seminars, conferences, and events to share knowledge and best practices. Encourage research and innovation in the field.
  • Advocacy and Representation Represent the interests of members at the regional, national, and international levels. Advocate for policy changes and better working conditions. Raise awareness about the importance and contributions of the field.
  • Networking and Collaboration Foster collaboration among members and stakeholders. Build networks for sharing resources and opportunities. Facilitate partnerships with other councils, institutions, and organizations.
  • Public Awareness and Education 8.Conduct campaigns to inform the public about the field's relevance and importance. Address misconceptions and provide accurate information. Promote health, safety, and well-being in alignment with the council's purpose.
  • Support and Welfare Provide guidance, resources, and support to members. Establish funds or initiatives for member welfare, such as scholarships or financial aid. Offer assistance during crises, such as legal support or professional indemnity insurance.
  • Regulating and Promoting Ethical Practices Investigate complaints and take disciplinary actions when necessary. Promote accountability and transparency within the profession. Establish grievance redressal mechanisms for members and stakeholders.
  • Recognition of Institutions Accredit training centers, educational institutions, and certification programs. Monitor the quality and standards of affiliated or recognized organizations.
  • Facilitation of Employment Opportunities Create and maintain job portals for members. Collaborate with employers to identify and match job openings with qualified professionals. Provide career counseling and support services.
  • Data Collection and Analysis Maintain a registry of members for data collection and verification. Conduct surveys and research to analyze trends and challenges in the field. Publish reports, whitepapers, and statistical data to inform stakeholders.
  • Global Alignment Align practices with international standards. Facilitate mobility of professionals through mutual recognition agreements. Support members in obtaining global certifications and opportunities.
  • Sustainability and Innovation Encourage sustainable practices in the field. Promote innovation and the adoption of new technologies. Support initiatives that contribute to social and environmental well-being.
